Combining elements from different genres is a risky proposition, but Ironclad has managed to create a truly unique hybrid with Sins of a Solar Empire. It may leave purists of either genre confused, but it will undoubtedly cultivate a following of its own.

Sins of a Solar Empire bucks the current RTS trends of break-neck speed and small-scale battles, and allows strategy gamers to think big and control an entire war in real time. With most RTS games shifting towards fast action at the expense of real strategy, it would be an unforgivable sin for a strategy fan to pass by this game on the shelf and not pick it up.
Gamers' Temple. Overall Sins of a Solar Empire is an easy game to recommend to strategy fans. It may put off RTS gamers who live off of rush tactics or turn-based gamers who like the luxury of taking all the time that they want to plot their next move.
Complex yet intuitive, balanced but still extremely demanding, this is one of the biggest surprises of the year. The problem with Sins isn't that it begs, borrows and steals; it's that it combines everything improperly and streamlines it so much that it whittles away its own soul.

Epic space battles, uber campaings sure they are technicly skirmish games, just get over it! Who doesn't like an uber battles between multi-hundred ship super-fleets?! The normal difficult is enough to give newer players a very stiff challenge, and hard lives up to its name. There is an even higher difficulty level for true pros. Maps are also diverse in both size and layout, which gives the game a significant amount of longevity.
The map makers at Ironclad are clever, and the maps are designed in ways which promote different styles of play. Some favor turtles, while others favor sneak attacks or quick confrontations. This selection of maps is another example of why deciding against a campaign was good decision.
Sins of a Solar Empire was built with multi-player in mind. The skirmish setup screens for multi-player are essentially the same as with single-player. Both co-op comp stomps and head-to-head team matches are very popular. The sheer length of the game is also a problem. If you can find some friends to play with, however, Sins is an awesome multi-player experience. Because it is a large scale game there is a lot of benefit to teamwork.
For example, one player might sit back and try to tech up to a game-ending weapon while the other two players go purely offensive in order to buy time. The Cons: You will lose sleep….. What is exciting about TBS wher I must say that I like strategy games a lot and back then when I started playing games I played only them so I know something about such games and almost all new strategy games I play without the tutorial.
